Unnecessary Farce

April 10th - 27th, 2014

Shimberg Playhouse at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts Tampa, FL

Two inept police officers are setting up a sting in adjoining motel rooms with the help of the city accountant. They plan to record the mayor confessing to embezzlement and recover the missing $16 million for the city. What little hope there was of success is quickly dashed when the overzealous bodyguard arrives and the accountant can’t seem to keep her clothes on. Soon, the occupants of both rooms are left asking themselves ‘Who’s behind what door?’ ‘What has happened to the money?’ and ‘How did bagpipes get involved?’

Written by Paul Slade Smith, Unnecessary Farce premiered in the BoarsHead Theater in Lansing, Michigan on October 27, 2006, and has had more than 155 productions to date. We hope you enjoyed Hat Trick’s interpretation!
